Floored - A peek into the not-so-ordinary life of Sally Periwinkle

Christmas Floors – Meet Melissa!

December 8, 2011 by Sally Periwinkle

Meet our first finalist! Melissa!

Melissa was nominated by her good friend, Ellen D., who wrote us a beautiful letter explaining why Melissa deserved some extra holiday cheer this Christmas.  Melissa is a mother of four beautiful and talented children.  She graciously and lovingly cared for her amazing husband, Dan, who was very ill for quite some time.  Dan passed away in June.

Melissa is a 12th grade teacher at Cy-Lakes High School in Cy-Fair ISD and still devotes much time and energy to her church, Community of Faith, hosting youth group Bible studies at her home.

  1. Christmas season is really a time of giving. It is good that there are contests like this that gives opportunities to deserving homeowners to improve their homes. Best of luck to all the finalists!

  2. The floor can really get a bit nasty especially if there are kids running around the house the whole day. However, with the pictures you’ve just posted, we saw the possibility of always keeping them in tune. Thanks for giving us a bright idea on what we can especially to special occasions like Christmas!
