Floored - A peek into the not-so-ordinary life of Sally Periwinkle
  1. Woodlands Home – Custom Tile Fireplace

March 9, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

Our third and final project we did for this lovely Woodlands home was a custom tile fireplace.  Needless to say, these customers have become huge fans of our company, and we were so honored to help enhance the beauty of their home.

The mosaic of smaller tiles create a bold statement while still complimenting the beautiful hardwood floors and warm, neutral paint.

    Take a look!

If you would be interested in creating a look similar to this in your own home, come visit us at one of our showrooms!

  2. Woodlands Home – Custom Tile Inset

March 8, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

These photos are from another project for the same customer’s home from yesterday’s post.  This customer had beautiful hardwood floors throughout most of the bottom floor.  Together, we came up with this idea for the entryway.

Basically, this inset gives the effect of a rug.  We were able to create distinct areas and provide a combination of textures.

    Take a look!!

Interested in doing something like this in your home?  Come by one of our two showrooms today and check out our beautiful selection of tile, stone, and hardwood!

  3. Patrick Visits Adam Elementary

February 21, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

A few days ago, Patrick visited Adam Elementary – another elementary school we sponsored for their field trip to the science museum.  SO many children wore their t-shirts so they could be in the photo and meet “Mr. Flaherty!”

This precious girl below loved Mr. Flaherty and was full of stories for him from the field trip!

Below, a photo with the fabulous principal, Ms. May, the amazing first grade teachers, and a handful of the first grade students pose with Patrick and the big check!

Below, Patrick feels a bit outnumbered but is loving it!!

A big group photo with everyone wearing their field trip shirts!

Below, a close-up of the photo above.  Prepare to smile :)

How can you not smile when you look at this last image??  What sweet faces!

Thanks again, Adam Elementary, for allowing us the opportunity to sponsor your field trip as well as making this visit with Patrick such a fun experience!!

We are so excited to show you the progress on Melissa’s house!  Remember meeting her at Christmas?

She is receiving a beautiful neutral tile in her kitchen, dining room, entryway and guest bath as well as carpet in her son’s room.  We are honored to give back to such an awesome family!!

Take a look at the progress – and stay tuned for her AFTER photos!!

  5. Patrick Visits Millsap Elementary

February 15, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

We are making the rounds to our five favorite schools!  Here we are at Millsap Elementary!  Our relationship with them started last year when they were the first and only school we sponsored on their field trip.  We are blessed to have been able to greatly expand our impact this year!

Featured below: Patrick Flaherty with the amazing first grade teaching team!  They are standing in front of a butterfly garden which we also helped sponsor last year!

Thanks for all you do, Millsap Elementary, for our kids and for all you’ve done to have helped make this year’s field trips be such a huge success!

  6. Patrick visits Moore Elementary

February 13, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

Moore Elementary was another school we sponsored for their field trip.  Patrick visited them as well!  Pictured below are: Patrick Flaherty, the amazing first grade staff, three wonderful first grade representatives (wearing their field trip t-shirts!!), the assistant principal, Irene Ruiz, and principal, Jana Needham.

Thank you, Moore team, for helping us pull off this fun project!!

  7. Patrick Visits Black Elementary

February 9, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

The five schools were elated to have Patrick Flaherty (our company’s owner) come present them with a check of the total donation towards the field trip.  They were so grateful and the kids loved the big check!!

Today’s image is from Black Elementary.  The back row features principal, Melissa Ledoux, the amazing first grade teachers, and their wonderful assistant principal.  The middle and bottom rows feature just a handful of the students who were sponsored to go on the field trip… and Patrick!  They are obviously still loving their “My Day at The Museum” t-shirts!

Stay tuned for photos from Patrick’s visits to the other four schools!

  8. My Day at The Museum – Part 4

January 30, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

Here we are with our final installment of our field trip photos. It has truly been an honor and privilege to sponsor these five schools and to give the gifts of memories and learning to such wonderful first grade students!

    These teachers are awesome!!

    Sweet smile!

This teacher from Black Elementary told her students, “Let’s go slowly.  When you take time to look closely at nature, there’s always a surprise!” :)

  9. My Day at The Museum – Part 3

January 27, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

The second field trip day included Adam Elementary (maroon shirts) and Black Elementary (black shirts) at the science museum.  These were also two wonderful groups of children, teachers and chaperones!

After this installment of photos, you can anticipate one more!

    Enjoy!

This student below apparently likes to be different by wearing his t-shirt backwards! :)

Sweet friends about to share a fun memory!

This little friend landed right on my knee and camped out there for awhile!

This fun teacher from Adam was also attracting some butterflies!

The image below re-emphasizes our thanks to the amazing teachers and chaperones that came to share this experience with their students!

  10. My Day at The Museum – Part 2

January 26, 2012 by Sally Periwinkle

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post!  Today’s installment of photos will be sure to make you smile!!  Yesterday’s post and today’s are from the field trips of Moore Elementary (navy shirts), Hamilton Elementary (red shirts) and Millsap Elementary (royal blue shirts).

These groups were incredibly well-behaved and so grateful for this gift!

Again, we could not have made it happen without the wonderful staff, administration and chaperones from these wonderful schools!

Enjoy today’s photos!  But stay tuned for even more sweet faces from the second day at the museum!

Below: meet Charlie.  He was quite the hit with the kids!

The image below is our FAVORITE shot of the entire two days.  So much wonder and excitement and awe in her eyes as she experiences first hand all she’s been learning in the classroom about butterflies.  Worth every penny!

These first grade teachers are the best!!

The image below is of a cacao tree… aka CHOCOLATE!!  Who knew chocolate was being grown in the butterfly exhibit??
